I just don't see how having mod support would be a downside for the game, remember mods are something the players choose to use, stability and features are in the hands of the players, nobody else. Originally posted by Dailan:depends really, if the game has good mod support and is modular, changes should not affect the mod unless are major ones, and I assure you, mod makers update their content to new game versions quite fast, is their duty to make the mod keep up with the lastest version of the game, regardless of how frequent the devs patch the game, just look at RimWorld for example, it's a simple game but wonderfully made, and the modularity of it allows mods to be very stable and the game to be error resistant. Also mod communities are famous for making some awesome performance mods, like the dayz community framework and Skyrim unofficial patch for mentioning a second one. Totally agree, that's what makes SCUM better than DayZ, the devs, but they can't pump out content as fast as the community, and is not like that will impair the development of SCUM, on the other hand, it can give devs an idea for more and better content. Just why adding mod support when the devs make the best mods and the game have still big future in terms of upcoming features, optimizations etc. So if the devs in scum would do that, I think then there would be much less updates from them. In dayz, the devs quit literally the game development and gave the work to the community by adding mod support. But we have active and good devs in scum which always brings up new updates and content. Originally posted by I know that they mention it will come after the game is finalized, but as time goes by the community is getting smaller and smaller, they can still create a system for mod support even if the game is not finalized, keep patching the vanilla game normally as it is, community mods will spice the game by a lot, just look at DayZ, that game by itself is crap compared to SCUM, but with mods is a different story, and dont tell me the DayZ devs waited for the full release to add mod support, because they didn't, and that saved the game, DayZ has around 10k+ people online daily in PC, and SCUM can barelly hold 2k people playing.
